Here is what a maid costs in Singapore in 2026, by nationality. The Myanmar and Indian figures are what families actually paid on 192 hires we arranged this year — not estimates.
How much is a maid’s salary in Singapore?

A first-time Myanmar helper costs $550 a month. That’s what most families paid across 169 Myanmar hires this year.

New or experienced Myanmar helper?
An experienced Myanmar helper usually costs $50 to $100 more than a new one. You’re paying for two things:
- English. A new Myanmar helper will hardly understand a word at first. Many pick it up within 3 to 6 months — they learned English at school, they just haven’t had to use it.
- Singapore household experience. She already knows how a home here runs, so there’s far less to teach.
If you can manage the extra $50 to $100, go for an experienced helper.
Go for a new helper if the tasks are simple and everyday, and your budget is tight — but be prepared for a few months of difficult communication.

Indian helper salary: $500
A first-time Indian helper costs $500 a month. That’s what most families paid across 23 Indian hires this year.

With an Indian helper, language matters more than English
Most Indian helpers speak little English — and most families who hire them don’t need them to, because they speak the same language at home. About two in three Indian helpers on our site speak Tamil, and many of the rest speak Punjabi.
If your family speaks Tamil or Punjabi at home, an Indian helper at $500 is a natural fit. Pick one who speaks your language.
If you need to talk to her in English, look at an experienced Myanmar helper instead.
The exception is Mizo helpers, from Mizoram, who usually speak English even when they’re new — but they’re rare, so don’t count on finding one. See available Indian helpers →
Filipino helper salary: at least $650
The Philippine government sets the minimum at $650 a month, since 21 October 2025. Experienced Filipino helpers on our site ask $700 to $750.
If you see a Filipino salary below $650, that information is out of date.
Filipino helpers coming from the Philippines must be hired through a licensed agency — that’s a Philippine rule, not ours. Details from the Migrant Workers Office in Singapore.
Indonesian helper salary: $550 to $650
A first-time Indonesian helper costs $550 to $650 a month, and an experienced one up to about $780. We don’t place enough Indonesian helpers to use our own figures, so these come from Upwill and SingSaver.
The minimum is quoted as $550 in some places and $560 in others. Check the current figure with the Indonesian Embassy before you agree a salary.
Sri Lankan helper salary: at least $550
The Sri Lankan High Commission sets the minimum at $550 a month. Some guides online still say $450 or $497 — that’s below the minimum, so ignore it.
Bangladeshi helper salary: around $525
Around $525 a month, usually between $450 and $650. This one is based on only a handful of helpers on our site, so treat it as a rough guide.
What will I pay each month in total?
On top of her salary, you pay the government a monthly levy of $300.

You may pay only $60 levy instead of $300 if your household has a child under 16, someone aged 67 or above, or a person with disabilities. That brings a Myanmar helper down to $610 a month. Check if you qualify on MOM’s site.
You also provide her food, accommodation and medical care.
