HippoMaid is operated by Legit Star Services Pte. Ltd. (UEN 202542671Z), a licensed employment agency in Singapore (MOM Employment Agency Licence No. 26C3463).

This policy explains what personal data we collect through www.hippomaid.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It is written to meet our obligations under Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

When you create an account and use the site, we collect:

• Your name and email address, from Google when you sign in with your Google account. We do not receive or store your Google password.
• Your phone number, which you enter to view helper profiles.
• A record of your consent — the exact wording shown to you, the date and time, and the IP address and browser you used. We keep this so we can show what you agreed to and when.
• How you use the site — pages viewed, helper profiles opened, and whether you return. This is linked to your account.
• Messages you send us on WhatsApp, including your WhatsApp phone number and display name.

We do not collect payment card details on this website, and we do not ask for your NRIC or passport number to browse helper profiles.

• To let you sign in and view helper profiles.
• To contact you about your helper search — by WhatsApp, phone, SMS or email — and to answer your enquiries.
• To match you with helpers and support the hiring process.
• To keep a record of the consent you gave, as the PDPA requires.
• To understand how the site is used so we can improve it, and to measure which pages bring genuine enquiries.
• To meet our legal and regulatory obligations as a licensed employment agency.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

We use a small number of service providers to run the site. They process your data on our instructions only:

• Supabase — our database and sign-in system. Data is stored in Singapore.
• Vercel — website hosting.
• Google — sign-in, and Google Analytics for usage statistics.
• Meta (WhatsApp Business) — so we can message you on WhatsApp.

Some of these providers operate outside Singapore. Where your data is transferred overseas, we take steps intended to ensure it receives a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA.

We may also disclose personal data where required by law, by MOM, or by another authority with jurisdiction over us.

We keep your account and enquiry information for as long as you have an account with us, and for up to 24 months after your last contact with us, unless we are required to keep it longer to meet a legal or regulatory obligation. Consent records are kept for as long as we may need to evidence the consent given.

• Stop messages. Reply STOP to any WhatsApp or SMS message from us, or email us, and we will stop contacting you.
• Access and correction. You may ask what personal data we hold about you and how it has been used or disclosed in the past year, and ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
• Withdraw consent. You may withdraw your consent to our use of your personal data at any time. We will tell you if withdrawing means we can no longer provide part of the service.
• Delete your account. Email us and we will delete your account and associated data, except anything we are required to retain by law.

We will respond to any request within a reasonable time.

We use cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in. We also use Google Analytics to count visits and understand which pages are used, which sets its own cookies. You can block cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work if you block the sign-in cookies.

Access to personal data is restricted to staff who need it to do their job. Our database enforces row-level access controls, and helper profiles are visible only to signed-in users. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

This site is intended for adults hiring domestic help. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Where a change materially affects how we use your personal data, we will tell you.
